HEPWORTH FARMS CSA SHARE

CSA_fall.jpg

Primrose Hill School is honored to partner with Hepworth Farms each year to provide families in our area the opportunity to be part of community-supported agriculture (CSA). The Hepworth Farms CSA box arrives weekly June until November to the Primrose Hill School campus and includes local, organic, seasonal vegetables and an optional fruit share. This partnership not only supports an incredible farm in the Hudson Valley that has committed to nurturing the earth and growing organically and sustainably, but it also provides support to our growing school.

Pick up is weekly on Tuesdays from 3-6pm from June 11th through November 5th at Primrose Hill School, 23 Spring Brook Park, Rhinebeck, NY (across from the Dutchess County Fairgrounds).

Please buy your share below and look forward to a delicious, seasonal box of vegetables (and fruit if you choose the optional fruit share) for you and your family.  Please also pass this info along to any friends and family who would be interested. Support our school, support our local farms!

As part of our CSA initiative, we invite you to match your order and donate half or full shares to local shelters in need of food. Come back soon to see a list of participating beneficiaries.

FAQ:

What is a CSA?
CSA Stands for Community Supported Agriculture. CSA allows residents to have direct access to high-quality, fresh produce grown locally by regional farmers. When you become a member of a CSA, you're purchasing a “share” of vegetables from a regional farmer. This locally based economic model was influenced by the biodynamic agriculture ideas formulated by Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf Education. Read more about the CSA model of relational-economics on Wikipedia.

Where do the vegetables come from?
Hepworth Farms in nearby Milton, NY, an organic family farm owned and operated by women, growing more than 400 varieties of organic vegetables. Amy Hepworth, a 7th generation farmer, was named 2015 Hudson Valley Farmer of the Year.

What is in a CSA share?
Take a look at the photo above. This will give you a good sense of what you will be receiving. Fruit shares depend on the season, but you will also receive apples that have been in cold storage from the fall.

Who benefits?

  • You (by eating fresh, organic, local produce)
