Intermediate Artist's Camp (Ages 7-13)

Led by artist and PHS parent Wolfy Scharf.

Ages 8-12 with intermediate experience and ability.

Week 1: July 3-7, Bookmaking and Nature Sketching. Class will explore different book making processes. Several different books will be made. Once created, the class will venture out to sketch and explore nature and techniques and tricks for drawing the natural landscape. THERE IS NO CAMP ON JULY 4th.

Week 2: July 10-14 General Art Camp. Class will make ink and paper in the beginning of the week and move toward designing and printing shirts of each child's design.

Week 4: July 24-28 Printmaking Camp. Class will focus on many different printmaking techniques. Class will be silkscreening paper and shirts. Relief printing with wood, linoleum and other materials can be explored by the students. We will try various ways of printing with hands, presses, and even a car.

Week 6: Aug 7-11 Ink, Papermaking, Pen, and Brush-making Camp. Class will explore making their own inks and paper with things found and recycled on campus. Class will also make their own writing tools like pens and charcoal. The class will even make their own brushes.

Ages 8-12 with intermediate experience and ability.
